a wrestlemania potluck?

it may be the first of its kind and I'm pretty sure it'll be legendary (as legendary as an apartment full of white kids watching tight-wearing men rub each other on a mat and have it not be any sort of a turn on while eating a lot of food, which is accompanied by many brews with the letters P, B, and R in it can be). but while i wait for a verdict from my friends to IF we'll have this extravaganza I'll just ponder the potential level of awesome that may ensue. if it fails miserably and if the $50+ it costs to see this man-love-fest in HD is a major disappointment, then there's always Rock Band. No, I didn't buy it but Richie did and I'm sure he'll be at the viewing of WW23. if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on it, let me know. and guys - get back to me asap on this so i can get to planning the awesomeness that will be that sunday night. (my idea is - i'd designate each person to bring a food item of some sort and a 6 pack (or more) and then i'd cover the cost of the overpriced HD WM24 event, works, right?)

I also think I have a cold coming. I have an arsenal of Dayquil sitting here just waiting for me to take it all down. The same could be said for the amount of work I have to do today, and tomorrow and so forth. So, to D's comment - I may blog at work, this can't be denied, but it just helps compact the amount of work I have to get done! It's another way to say procrastinate. Plus, when you're feeling like hell, the last thing you really focus on is work or any sort of work that requires any type of mental strain. Because, seriously, when you're getting that achy feeling but are all wrapped up in your bed, are you laying there asking yourself "what should i wear to work today? i bet it will be a great day." F no. You're thinking "shit. i have to get up. would they notice if i wasn't there? I wonder how the Price is Right is with Drew Carey?..." Maybe, maybe. More than likely you just lay there wishing that you being awake was a quick dream and you'd be back in happy land soon and NOT wondering through your apartment looking for something to wear, that closely resembles looking ironed.

let's see. any other life issues that aren't really life issues but topics that give people something to read? Not really. um. no. life's not so bad. i keep debating if i should buy a nintendo DS. I know there's the PSP and it plays movies, but who cares. psp doesn't have mario games. the DS, on the other hand, has typically inexpensive games (around $20). well, at least the awful ones i'd buy. i would find the most homo erotic games and buy them. from pet doctor to hannah montana to the elite beat agents. the main game would be Brain Age. Something to do while sitting around that isn't murdering people in halo or running the score up in baseball. it could be a disastrous purchase in terms of use, but who knows? Kim could get wildly addicted to it and then the purchase is sound as a pound. look at that. cooking with mama. supposedly much better on the DS than the wii. not to mention she sounds like helen keller when she says "cooking with maaamaaaa" oh it's awesome. A Helen Keller, Julia Child hybrid. I'd list more games but it wouldn't even begin to encapsulate how awesome some of the games are. ok, ok, one more. That's 6 kinds of amazing right there. Anyone disagree? I hope not, i'll ignore it! Strawberry Shortcake for life!
Hmm. Do you know what else is amazing? Slow motion vids. That's right. This one is my new favorite. The bitch slap in slow motion.

Fantastic.
and maybe some slow mo of bullets flying through things

and i'm not too in the mood to keep talking so i'll end with one last video. i hope this cold goes away, i hope fantasy baseball is a hit, i also hope the WM24 Potluck extravaganza is hotter than lindsey lohan's freckles (d's favorite) and...and...yeah. that's all i've got for today. no, wait, lie. way to go Richie on dropping a paycheck on the 360, rockband, the wireless adaptor, xbox live, and halo. you make men everywhere proud.
alright. happy tuesday everyone.

and the weather said, "i tricked ya bitch"

this weather is a hot mess.

I am not looking forward to this (see pic on left) on my way home today

1 AM rolled around and there were no signs of snow. I'm woken up this morning to be told, again, that there is no snow. No more than 15 minutes after K left - snow. Stupid snow. So then, half (more like 1/6) awake I'm debating with myself whether to trek into work or just shower and put PJs back on. it's like debating if you should go look at your dad's stash of playboys when you know he's right downstairs. you know you want to (stay home in this case) but do you? I know Hugh would. But, instead, I did the responsible thing and got ready for work and came in. Talk about your all-time backfires. I get here and it's like the opening episode to Kid Nation. No one is here. You'd swear the 'white noise' track they're playing is on full blast. Oh well. It's not that interesting of a story. I still get out at 1 and I can't complain about that.

There isn't much of interest on my plate right now. Easter weekend never pans out as the weekend to be remembered. Sunday is jam packed w/ family adventures. Brunch with Kim's parents and the small army they invited and then heading up to Gtown for dinner with my parents. Fat, fat, delicious fattening foods all day. I am excited for one thing, though. Getting to eat the furry, white guy you see in the picture (not Hugh) YES, lamb. No mint jelly. Just delicious, well-cooked lamb. But bythe time I see him, or her, on my plate he'll look like this picture on the right. Once so fuzzy, warm and cute...and then turned into deliciousness. The only way to make that better is to enjoy mr. lamb on a hot summer day instead of a hot dog, as a big juicy, delicious gyro!

Friday night should be entertaining if the weather eases up. A trip to the comedy club is in order or the 'stay local' approach will be fine too. Wii, bowling, or just nothing at all.

My bracket sucks. I'm terrible at them. I'm sort of glad that I don't invest as much time into it as others. I wouldn't want to be one of the 6 people who ruin office pools. I have 2 brackets. One is where I make my best educated and incredibly wrong guesses and the other is one that took me to almost 200th in the country in the ESPN brackets a couple years back. I decide - Which mascot can kill the other mascot - and make my picks from there. This year it isn't working out so well, but you can't take these things too seriously. Otherwise you'll also be a part of the $1.7 Billion dollar industry drain. All because we can't stand work and would much rather engulf ourselves in a sports competition that none of us really knows anything about. But hey - who wants to actually do work while at work? No one I know. Maybe porn stars, but that's still a big maybe. "alright Julie, get ready for another facial" --Another one? That last segment of 30 consecutive guys wasn't enough? WHAT does it take around here!?"

So much talky, talky and no videos. I know, you're tired of reading my relentless rambling. Blah, blah, blah is all you see. So - here's a video for you -

A fresh take on the whole slow motion thing. It's worth a watch or 6.
I read this morning that the guy who sang "Chocolate Rain" won a youtube award. It goes to show you - anyone can become famous.

I'll find something funnier for a final post. Hmm - Though I'm at work, it doesn't mean that I want to DO work today. As little as possible would seem like the norm around here today. Everyone around me, that actually came in, is talking about NCAA, their babies or they're just talking to themselves. So - a quick thought on the Fantasy Baseball draft - good work to everyone. We had 9/10 participants at the actual live draft. A record. There were some interesting picks but all in all it should be a good year. Fantasy baseball or not - this is the year for the cubbies. It is. You'll see. Yeah. I'm worthless on blogging today. I didn't want to go a week w/o blogging. Not because I think you'll miss what I have to say, but because this is much better than work.
If you're looking for a good new CD to check out - I'd have to go with the new The Hush Sound CD - "Goodbye Blues." It's catchy, it's fairly long, in terms of track amounts. I mean, if you liked the first CD then you should def pick this puppy up. Or, if you have never heard of them - tsk, tsk - go pick it up! AND the one before it (which is called "Like Vines") There is a lot of good music coming out soon and I'll comment on it once it does or once I get my hands on it. Otherwise, it's the same ol, same ol.

Alright, that's enough rambling for one sitting. Here's another video or 2. Enjoy, stay out of the snow, and have a great weekend and a super happy Easter!
Video #1 - Enjoy Some of The Hush Sound

This is just the song with random pictures put up through it, but it's my favorite track off the new album -

And finally - a fun video to kill some time watching. HUMAN TETRIS! (I love Japan)

I lied. 1 more
The other fun Japanese game show (as if there could only be just one, there are a ton, but many others to be shared on another day). I don't know it's real title, but here in the states we like to call it the "if you don't say it fast enough you get hit in the nuts" game. ENJOY!

3.18.2008

goodnight snow, hello dreary rain

t-minus 30 minutes until j. mraz tickets go on presale. do i have a seperate browser open waiting for 10a to roll around? YES. It's a bad thing that I become frustrated when someone distracts me from writing in my pointless blog. "You want me to do what? Work? Real, actual work? I didn't come to work to do work. I came to work to buy jason mraz tickets, write a blog, go to lunch and then gossip until 430."

30 minutes no more. Due to multiple distractions, 10a has come and come and 4 tickets are now in my name for Jason Mraz at the Metro in April. Tuesday, April 9th at 7pm. I bet I take Thursday off. Some people make fun of Jason. Call the man mom rock. Tsk, tsk. I will admit, much of his studio work has a momness to it that I can't deny (though it's still good). Jason is like Dave in a way. You need to see the man live. He's amazing live. Much less mom rock live and 12 shades dirtier. Plus the potheads of bushwalla will be there and that always promises to be fun.

the only person i know who is more excited to see jason than myself or rich (combined) would have to be this girl: Kimberly Nichols. That's her doing a spinning happy dance. She'll probably spin even faster once she realizes I have tickets. Rich and I will sing like idiots and kim will drool like he's on the cover on teen beat magazine. but then again, so will Rich. I do hope he has the pink lights that spin and turn into rotating vaginas again. When you listen you think "this sounds calm enough...wait a minute...he didn't mean come, he meant cum...naughty."

As usual - I won't stick to my inital thoughts. They've deviated yet again. So, I'll just focus on the awesomeness of getting tickets and add more videos for anyone reading this to check out. For example:

Yeah. Awesome.
Or another- Running. His non album stuff still seems to be the best

How about some halfway home?

or...how about a random comic? Dilbert is classy.

Seeing him sing is all fine and dandy - but it eventually turns into a huge sing-a-long. A lot of girls screaming or you hear "TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS!" Does he? Thanksfully, no. But here's what it ends up sounding like:

But still enjoyable.
On any note - I've wasted many minutes of many lives by now, and I'll sleep ok knowing that. The rain and dreariness of Tuesday are in full force but hey - at least it isn't snow any more! I'm tired of snow. I'm tired of heat bills. I'm ready to turn the a/c back on and grill out more often. Come to think of it - I'm ready for the midget beer party. I wonder if we can make it a white trash midget beer party. The vertically and classy challeneged party. Spam and mini coors lights. Cheese filled oscar meyer weiners and small Ice houses. I think Ice House only comes in one size. Giant. But it does not come in delicious. Nor do those hot dogs. Fast Franks? because putting one in the microwave for 30 seconds isn't fast enough. All of that time lost putting it in a bun just ruins the atmosphere of hotdog eating...what a crock of crap. i'm surprised there isn't ketch and mustard already on it. haha, cheese filled dogs and fast franks go to show you how lazy america is. on any note - i babble yet again. enjoy the rain and in a few weeks i'll be enjoying Jmraz!

Happy Tuesday!

ah, st. patty's day. a day of bold excuses, lies and green.

i love st. patty's day. not only because of leprechauns, corned beef, green beer and a free excuse to pinch people who don't wear green - i love it because of the people. maybe it's out of habit or human nature, but i love self-imposed defensiveness. "hey julie, not wearing green today?" --I don't have to, I'm not Irish. --or-- I don't have anything green --or-- I don't look good in green. --or-- I completely forgot --or-- I gave it up in grade school.
Lie, lie, potential lie, double lie, and you're super lazy and bitter lie
Forgot? My sweet white ass you forgot.
As if you forgot after knowing the parade was on. After every grocery store had an abundance of corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, sugar cookies with green icing and the green balloons...you're going to say - oh i forgot.
People are dumb. Just say - I was too lazy to make any additional effort in my wardrobe. Don't give the whole conformity argument. Idiots. When I see my Indian friend wearing a green sweater you know the average white guy has no excuse. "i totally forgot." Why? because you were hungover from the weekend of GREEN beer?

Speaking of green beer, I had plenty of it this weekend. From BWW to CBN. I'm emotionally torn. I feel part guilty for changing plans at the last minute on K, but I did have a fun time. Woogie stepped it up as usual and the best part - I didn't get kicked out of the bar this time around. Finally. The green brew stayed alive for almost the entire night, which was also impressive. All in all - a good time.

If you have't read K's blog yet - I'm sure you will, but I'll give her this much - she has a point. Courtesy goes a long, long way. There was a time when everyone helped out, brought stuff over, or just asked for things. Now it's all assumed. No more "please." No more "thank you." There's a comfortability factor as part of it but also a 'not realizing you're walking over your friends' part of it too. K and I do differ on the aspect of people staying over in some respects. I don't tend to mind it as much since I sleep in as late as everyone else (cause I'm just as messed up the night prior). She is up much earlier. I have no need to dwell on it. I just say - I love that people come over and that we can act as the central location for everyone to meet up and hang out - that's all and good - I just wonder what happened to the common courtesies? Word.

and now for something completely different: this guy . There's nothing unfunny about this guy. It's a real person, with a real site where he really dresses up in tights and pretends to be Peter F*n Pan. Amazing. Just when you thought there weren't enough crazy people in this world already - in comes THIS guy. I'm not even kidding, but I wish I was. if you want to see more of this scary human being - go to pixyland.com OR look at another amazingly horrific photo. Oh man...I should have deviated to a completely different subject. Though, I would pay to see Scott in this outfit and have him hit on large women in the process. That would be magic, my friends.

Speaking of friends. 2 things. 1 - I can't wait to see pictures from Sat night (post those bitches!) and 2. I also can't wait for Thursday night's draft. Baseball. The fantasy sport I thought I swore off but was lied to...by my self.

I wonder if there's anything else? K is off to the Sunny side of Philly this week for new-work training. that'll be fun and hopefully philled (ah. haha, play on words...sigh) with philly cheese steak samiches! mm, mmm! I'll be at the house solo, without any real motivation to work out or cook until she gets back. It's more fun to cook FOR someone than for yourself. Weird? Maybe. Realistic? Yes.

Aside from that - there isn't much else going on. To go to the April wedding or not to go? It's not a matter of want but matter of ability financially. I want to, but we'll have to see. It'll be awesome to see the MN folks again and to not be at work for a day AND to see Brenda get married, of course. By the end of the week we should know. I should know. Then Easter. That stupid rabbit and his calorie killing candies. Jag bag. delicious jag bag. Why don't we eat bunny on easter instead of lamb? sure it's a bit gamey, but so what? "Way to go kids, you found the eggs. here's your easter basket from the bunny. now lets eat his children. YAAAY!." sick. anyway, happy monday.

a hot tranny baseball mess

before i delve into my day-to-day bitching i thought a funny-ass video would be in order. for those of you who have never seen Project Runway, i'm sorry because it's an awesome show and this SNL skit makes fun of it in a glorious way.

As gay as it sounds - i love tim gunn AND heidi klum. add them together and you get magic. but not as magical as when you add heidi and will ferrel together.
In other news - fantasy baseball is RIGHT around the corner. each year i vow not to do it because of the amount of time it takes up, but it gives me something to do at work to destress when things get cooky.

Speaking of cookies - top chef starts tonight and it will also be hot and fabulout (and hopefully not a tranny hot mess).

in the not-so-much fun-related news - work's been a downer lately. word has it that this year is a "trim the fat, cut a lot of costs year..." Super. I guess they have internal resumes people fill out stating your skill set to determine your worth/value to the company. YAY 2008! And on the home front life is doing alright. Sadly, one of Al's close friends passed away after his long fight with cancer. He was doing better, from what I was told, but this past weekend things took a turn for the worse. Sad. In the world of friends - people seem to be gearing up for the weekend. A weekend of St Patty's day celebrations. Am i excited? I could be. I do love green beer and woogie.

Of what I'm not excited about, I'll say this much, but won't use names because they know who they are and those others know who they are who that person is that i'm referring to who knows that i'm referring to them (say that three times fast). But - some people have been mighty shady as of late, others have shown signs of being quite awesome but I've got to say - when you're roaming with a small circle of friends to begin with - talking shit about them isn't the wisest route to go. Word travels fast in a group that may be diverse and far away but still very tight knit in their own way. The best way to get along is to get along. Far too often people point fingers and blame. They don't come out and say anything and just bottle and talk shit. It's far too 17-years old for me. It's a whole grow up and be a friend or disappear. Then you always hear people say "oh, buy so and so doesn't make an effort, so and so doesn't do this, so and so did this or that or wa wa wa," put up or shut up. It's probably a mighty downfall for me that i don't hesitate too often to tell someone how i feel - right, wrong or indifferent. I'd much prefer to get my thoughts out in the open than to talk shit behind someones back. Granted - i do talk shit when people aren't around (about certain, not all people) but there's nothing i won't say behind your back that i won't also say to your face. fact. if you're being shady for a consistent amount of time i'll let you know - at first in a nice way and a concerned way and then i'll get frustrated. Whether good or not - i've always lived under the "i'm very nice to everyone until that someone(s) f*s with me, then i'll be a real asshole." so just get a long. don't be a hot mess (like in the earlier video). if you talk crap - someone will find out. there's an unspoken amount of trust within the group. all in all - just get along. if something bugs someone - say it. otherwise i'll hire angry midgets to cut your shins.

or i'll have that guy bathe you. (sick)

but yeah - i've got to say, on a whole new topic, watching rich o get drunk off of 3 beers the other night was pretty amazing. i haven't seen that since the 8th grade with a grown man. not only was i impressed that he planned to come over and did, but that he kept drinking delicious beers (spotted cow, fat squirrel and unplugged) and tanked himself within beer 1 and 1/2. quality outing, rich, quality.

anything else in my amazingly long and boring blog?
yes - kim recapped last weekend nicely. cedargburg, wi was a nice, cozy town that moved slower than a sloth on vicadin. i enjoyed myself and enjoyed the winery, the random antique shops and my all-time favorite man in the book store yelling on the phone (not cause he was mad but because that's how he talked). no wonder kids left without any books, they were scared. paying for ice cream by the ounce was 6 kinds of amazing as well as the hollowed out bowling alley lanes, retro 60 year old man with mutton chops and the ungreased lanes. PERFECT. also - the hot tub in the room was fabulous. more fabulous was running it at 10p when we fully knew every old person in the building was asleep since 8p...it was a loud hot tub (the tub, not us. well maybe us, but mostly the tub) and the fact that i was able to watch a VHS for the first time since '99. would i do it again? yes, but in the summer when it's easier to be outside. oh yeah - kim loved the man at the pool hall with the quarter-sized boil on his forehead. he was smokin'. she wanted to push it like the Easy button.

other than that - i don't know if publically said it but i will now - Congrats to Richie for FINALLY getting that job he wanted and moving over to the Emerald City of Allstate.
Good work, buddy!

Alright - that's all I have for today. It's a long mo-fo post. So soak it in and love it. And stop the hatin'! Get ready for green brew and have a good hump day.

and to the notion of proving myself at work this year -

3.11.2008

we'll make this just about tunes

there are some good tunes out there lately.
i'm not going to give a full-blown review on it, but if you like rock-ish music that's catchy, not too long, decent focals and surprisingly easy to run to I think you should pick up, download or get a copy from me of - What Made Milwaukee Famous - "What Doesn't Kill Us."

In all honesty - finding a 4 minute song on this album is hard pressed to do, but who cares? 2 minutes or 12, my expectations are low, so I'm content.

Also in the good music news - it was/is free on iTunes - Ana Serrano something or another and the song is called Paradise. Yes, it's pop. Yes it's a chick. Yes it's catchy. It's free - who cares? And she eventually sings in spanish - another winner. blue ribbon style.

Anything else musical...YES. JASON MRAZ is coming to town in April. Many of my friends refer to him as mom rock, and for that, I say - get me some mom jeans and take me to the show. I love me some JMraz, especially a LIVE jmraz. It's a Wednesday show, but that won't slow me down but push me to take a day off just because. so, if you want to come along let me know so we can all get tickets (or try, it will sell out. I believe it's at the metro in mid april)

And last on the music front - I had to have the addictive song from the apple macAir commercial. New Soul by Yael Naim. $.99 well spent.

it's too bad she's ugly. but it makes sense.

3.04.2008

i'd rather look at comics.

there will be no post today. i'm far too tired. i do have a photo shoot this afternoon for some work-related thing. i can't even begin to tell you how unthrilled i am about it. makeup, outfit, the whole 9. an hour's worth of this bull honkey. in one other piece of important news - today is Kim's 25th. She feels old, but she isn't. She looks GREAT. one hot 25 yr old, if you ask me. so make sure anyone who reads this wishes her a happy birthday! :) or the next time we're out - buy the girl some drinks! happy birthday KiMBO!

huh, i guess i did just make a story-like post. suck.
well, too bad, now you've read it, now i've said it and now on to the comics

there was a time when i didn't understand dilbert but now i sadly, sadly do.

and last but not least

happy Tuesday!

3.03.2008

it's a good thing i'll never run for office

Because if i did - I'd be fired or not allowed to run. the photos would incrimidate me first and then a blog. someone would find it. some friend would exploit my fame because i made fun of fat girl scouts and their diabetes. haha...fat girl scouts.

every year on american idol there is some girl who's involved in some scandelous photos - though they're just drunk girl pics of girls being girls. i couldn't go on AI - just open up facebook pictures of me and i'll be incrimidated again within 30 seconds. though - i don't show my ta tas to the world, but that's because no one would want to see my ta tas. Which is why i'm glad i don't have a sex tape out there. it would frighten grown men and women. children would laugh.

speaking of children --

If the video posted - it's amazing. That lil asian kid can groove. I can't say i've ever watched Yo! Gabba Gabba. I feel as though it would be pretty pedophilish if i did. sick bastards, but the clip is funny anyway.

if anyone knows how to list other blogs i read on my own blog page - let me know, because i can't figure it out and would like to let others link to good webpages/blogs i constantly check out.

Anyway - upcoming is a short week. Friday, K and I head to Cedarburg for a weekend away. I'm not much of a vacation-type guy but I'm willing to give it a shot. Especially since there will be wine. And I'm doing my best to get more outside of my comfort zone of doing things. Though, I'll always love to see 16 Candles or waste a night bowling or staying in to wii/wine it up. but weekends away, random trips, bon jovi and other such things are new, costly, but fun and well worth the financial gouging.

work is still paced as usual - lathargic, but i'm sure that'll all change by the time i'm done typing this sentance. here's one more amazingly awesome link for anyone who wastes their time reading this. other than that - let me know about my q to show my blogging posse somewhere on this page. thanks, yo

The NFL Wonderlic Test - http://theworldofisaac.blogspot.com/2008/02/nfl-wonderlic-test_27.html

Yup - that's it for 1230 today.
More loads of babble and nonsense tomorrow.
